“I believe what is important, above all, is that the client feels comfortable with the work and experiences a sense of growth.”

Joseph’s (he/him) practice is rooted in relational psychoanalysis which places importance on the interaction between therapist and client and how together they can extract and build meaning in a client’s life. He also believes in drawing from other practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness if these make sense for a particular client or in a specific situation. As a longtime documentary filmmaker and writer, Joseph has a particular interest in working with those in the creative arts.
