"I engage in caring and collaborative therapy based in mutual trust, understanding and connection."

After many years in theater and design, Sheryl (she/her) discovered her calling as a psychotherapist. She sees therapy as a collaborative effort to understand present difficulties and find a path toward greater ease and satisfaction in life. Toward that end, she and the client dig deep together and form a trusting relationship through which they can make sense of what they uncover. Learning self-compassion and mindfulness are often part of the process.

Sheryl has worked in a mental health clinic, provided counseling to homebound Holocaust survivors and, as a hospital therapist, treated survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence. She has post-graduate training in psychodynamic therapy from the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy, and in trauma from the National Institute for the Psychotherapies. She also brings personal lived experience to her practice.

Sheryl works with adults of all ages, backgrounds and identities, and believes that diagnoses are far less important than the issues people grapple with every day. Whatever you have to bring is welcome.
