General Questions

  • Thank you for your interest. Our availability varies, but we typically have openings for in-person and online appointments. We ask that you fill out an Appointment Request Form to ensure we are the right fit for you and that we have a clinician with availability who can best suit your needs.

  • Regretfully, we are unable to offer consultations, but we encourage you to read our therapists' bios and provide us with a detailed response on your Appointment Request Form. This will help us find you a therapist who can best suit your needs. You can access the therapists' bios here: Our Therapists

  • To ensure safe and appropriate care we cannot treat the following conditions:

    -Sessions to anyone under the age of 18

    -Psychiatric Assessments

    -ADHD Assessments

    -Treatment for Severe and Chronic Mental Illness

    -Medication Management

    -Family Therapy

    -Treatment for Alcoholism or Addiction

  • We believe that weekly sessions provide the most effective therapy. For this reason, we do not offer bi-weekly or monthly appointments.

  • We appreciate your interest. We ask that all potential patients visit our website and then fill out a City Therapy Appointment Request Form.

  • Yes, we do! In-person sessions are held at our Union Square Office at 113 University Place, our Flatiron Office at 928 Broadway and our Downtown Brooklyn Office at 26 Court Street.

Appointments & Scheduling

 
  • Thank you for your interest. We will reach out to you within 48 buisness hours regarding your Appointment Request.

  • We require a minimum of 24-hours for any cancelled appointments. For appointments cancelled with less than 24-hours notice, we charge a $100 late cancellation fee.

  • For the safety of those seeking treatment, we only hold names on our waitlist for two weeks and only place those on our waitlist that would be a good fit for the services City Therapy offers. If you have not been contacted by us within two weeks, we encourage you to seek services elsewhere. We do not want to delay you from getting help.

  • The length of our waitlist varies and is dependent on multiple factors (e.g., requests for particular therapists, the availability of both patients and therapists, etc.), so we cannot provide an exact estimate. If you have not been contacted by us within two weeks, we encourage you to seek services elsewhere. We do not want to delay you from getting help.

  • We are unfortunately unable to provide this as our available sessions fluctuate from day-to-day. We encourage you to read our therapists' bios and select as many as you feel would be a good fit.

  • Yes! You can submit your insurance information here and we will verify your benefits for you.

    We strongly encourage you to verify your benefits for "out-patient mental health professional office/telehealth visits" by checking your insurance provider’s membership portal or by calling the number on the back of your insurance card.

    We are not taking UnitedHealthcare Community Plans at this time.

    We accept New York State Medicaid/Marketplace Plans through Anthem/Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, Fidelis/Ambetter, Healthfirst and MetroPlus.

  • We are an out-of-network provider with all plans and can provide information on any out-of-pocket costs for your plan after you submit an Appointment Request Form. We can provide you with a superbill to give to your insurance company for a reimbursement at the discretion of your insurance company during claims processing. Please Note: We cannot guarantee a reimbursement from your insurance company and cannot reimburse any session payments on sessions that were under an Out-of-Network Plan.

  • Yes, our rates are $125-200.
