Katherine Nicholas, LMSW
Union Square & Online
“I encourage clients to develop a deeper understanding of their bodies and minds and build healthy coping mechanisms to regulate physical and emotional reactions.”
Katherine (she/her) earned her MSW with a focus in trauma-informed care for adolescents and young adults. She is particularly interested in working together with clients to process childhood trauma. Katherine understands that past experiences have an impact on our present life. She believes that trauma impacts the nervous system and can present in both mental and physical symptoms in the body.
Katherine provides a client-centered and strengths-based approach to therapy where the client is always the expert of their own experiences. She believes in beginning therapy by creating a space where the client feels safe and comfortable. Prior to City Therapy, Katherine worked with parents and their young children.
Katherine is also trained in Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
