"Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you’re kind, amazing things will happen.” – Conan O’Brien

Matthew (he/him) empowers his clients by creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where they can feel comfortable expressing themselves. He tailors his therapeutic approach based on the needs of the individual client, drawing from CBT, positive psychotherapy, existential psychotherapy, psychodynamic and other modalities, as well. Matthew also incorporates tools such as mindfulness, breathing techniques and other grounding methods that enable clients to feel more present.

Matthew has experience working with individuals living with generalized anxiety, OCD, depression, social anxiety, relationship issues and career and school issues. Matthew considers therapy to be a place to work on goals that allows people to become who they want to be. In that vein, he agrees with Albert Brooks' suggestion that, "I don't think the goal is, 'How big a star did you ever become?' I think the goal is, 'Were you able to express yourself?'"

Matthew received his Master of Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College and holds a Bachelor's degree in Management with a concentration in Leadership and Consulting from Binghamton University.
