“Feelings have their own kind of wisdom.” – Nancy McWilliams

Miakoda (she/her) views therapy as a collaborative process where you, the client, are recognized as the expert of your own life. Together, we will navigate your experiences, uncovering underlying patterns that may be impacting you today to foster greater self-understanding and personal growth. Miakoda cultivates a warm, open and non-judgmental space where all thoughts and feelings can be safely explored.

Drawing from a psychodynamic and relational approach, Miakoda values the unique relationship between clinician and patient as foundational to the healing process. Her previous experience includes working with undergraduate college students and families affected by intimate partner violence.

Miakoda earned her MSW from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and holds a BFA in Film Production from Emerson College, with a minor in Gender Studies. Prior to her career as a psychotherapist, she worked in the film and television industry.
