“I find [Sharon’s] approach incredibly intentional, kind, focused on a growth mindset and more than anything compassionate.” - Former Client

With curiosity, kindness, compassion, and sensitivity, Sharon (she/her) works with people who are struggling with trauma, complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, adult children of divorce, and codependency. Clients may feel numb, sad, or lonely. They may sleep poorly, feel overwhelmed, worried, nervous, or have health challenges. They may have a hunch that they’re suffering from the effects of trauma. Many struggle with self-criticism, perfectionism, or have difficulty in relationships.

Sharon works together with each client to build a warm, collaborative, and respectful relationship. She offers a holistic approach, which includes trauma informed psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, IFS, somatic approaches, and CBT/REBT. Sharon works with young, middle-aged, and older adults from different cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations within a social justice framework.

Before becoming a counselor, Sharon innovated a mind-body practice that melded together physical therapy, yoga therapy, breath work, relaxation, and mindfulness for over 20 years in NYC. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from UT Austin in Modern Dance, a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Columbia University, and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College.
